Exploring Central Park

Central park is the archetype of the green lungs of cities. The park is 341 hectare large and gives you 94 km of paths to walk. The citizens of Manhattan use it for sporting, just walking around or having a picnic. It is a wonderful place that features unique bridges, fountains, lakes, a castle and lots of greenfields.

Check out Belvedere castle, the Bethesda fountain and Strawberry Fields (Imagine!), a memorial to John Lennon directly in front of The Dakota. Within the museum you will find the Metropolitan Museum of Modern Art, a zoological garden, a swimming pool and ice skating venue, a statue of Alice in Wonderland and many more sights.

Always when I was a bit tired from walking for hours throughout New York I returned here to relax. It is an absolutely georgous place and it would take you more than a day to explore the park in all details. One morning I also got the motivation together to join the running crew and made a round through the park. It’s unimaginable how many runners and cyclists are active in the early morning. A location that could motivate me to do this more often. 😉
