The Basílica i Temple Expiatori de la Sagrada Família is a roman-catholic church in Barcelona, Spain. If has been designed by Antoni Gaudí in Modernist style. It was begun in 1882 and is stil unfinished until today. It is planned to be finished in 2026 – when Gaudí is 100 years gone. It has been sacrified just in 2010 and became UNESCO World Cultural Heritage in 2005.
It is especially beautiful because of its spectacular façade. Different times over history people tried to stop the construction process (including Walter Gropius and Le Corbusier) but never succeeded. Today it is very important for tourism and it is more visited then the Alhambra in Granada. Tourists can get inside (expect long queues) and up the finished towers.
