Deep down in Italy

When the European Union published the invitation to a scientific conference in Acquafredda di Maratea I had to look up the location on the Internet. I had never heard of Maratea, Italy. But as the EU accepted my proposal and invited me, I booked a flight to Napoli and took a train to that part of Italy.

Maratea is a bit remote and the hotel itself was really remote on a rocky coastline. During the course of the conference I got to know some nice Italian and Greek researchers and we went to the city of Maratea and especially to the second largest Christ statue of the world.

Afterwards I returned to Napoli, visited the city and Pompeji, the Vesuvio and Sorrento. After some pizza at its origin I returned to München, Germany and had a nice day there before I returned home.
