For travelling to work every day I chose to get a BahnCard 100 from Deutsche Bahn, giving me the opportunity to travel for free on weekends throughout Germany. Two destinations came to my mind because they allow the longest journeys for me because the railway stations located in other countries officially belong to the German network: Basel, Switzerland and Salzburg, Austria. The Museum der Moderne is a museum of modern art in Salzburg, Austria. It is devided into two parts: the main museum is located in the Rupertinum in the city center and the second part is up on the Mönchsberg with wonderful view down on Salzburg. Continue reading “Museum der Moderne”
The fortress Hohensalzburg is a fortification high above Salzburg, Austria. It is the town’s landmark located on the Festungsberg and Europes biggest fortification from the 11th century and Austrias most visited tourist sight outside of Wien. The first building dates back to the year 1077 CE and the fortress then has been continuously extended. Continue reading “Festung Hohensalzburg”
