The Sistine Chapel or Cappela Magna is a chapel in the Apostolic Palace in the Civitas Vaticana, Vatican City. It is named after Pope Sixtus who restored it until 1480. The Piazza San Pietro is the huge column-surrounded place in front of Sancti Petri in Vaticano in the Civitas Vaticana, Vatican City. It was created by Gian Lorenzo Bernini from 1656 on. It is used by the Pope on every Wednesday to welcome the masses.
