It’s impossible to have a list with the best restaurants and bars at Berlin. There are too many and they change pretty often. Here are some of my favorites instead:
Restaurants at Berlin
Lavanderia vecchia
As my birthday was during the time of our stay in Berlin, Germany, I was looking for a special dinner opportunity. I was thinking about some Israeli food at the Neni Berlin, but the restaurant was fully booked during the peak hours. Therefore I was searching on the Internet and found the Italian restaurant Lavanderia vecchia (old laundry) and decided to give it a try. Read more…
NENI
If you like good views for dinner you can’t miss a visit to the NENI at the Breitscheidplatz close to the railway station ‘Zoologischer Garten‘ of Berlin, Germany. It is serving high-class oriental food in a wonderful atmosphere: through big glass windows you can look over the zoological garden which looks like a forest. Already the mezze request hard decisions: humus or falafel? Or some speciality from Libanon or Marocco? Read more…
Kimchi Princess
Traditional Korean food served under red neon lights in Berlin, Germany. The restaurant “Kimchi Princess” is a very well styled place to have an excellent dinner close to the Kottbusser Tor. It’s authentic and you can taste yourself through Deopbap and Bibimbap up to Korean barbecues with different ingredients. Read more…
Ishin Japanese Deli
When Germans think of sushi & co., they always think about high class food and restaurants. But in fact – sushi is some kind of street food in Japan. Ishin reflects this as a plain restaurant, decorated at a minimum level, long tables where might get to know someone new; and of course: absolutely great sushi and bento boxes. Try calpico, a strange looking but tasty softdrink. Read more…
La Riviera
It’s just a pizzeria but it is one of the most child-friendly restaurants I’ve been to: the La Riviera at the harbour of Kladow, belonging to Berlin, Germany. You can get there by bus from Berlin Zoologischer Garten (bus X34) or by ship from Wannsee (ferry F10). The restaurant is located directly at the harbour and you can’t miss it. Read more…
Mylos
We all have seen numerous Greek restaurants during our lifes. And after an endless count of Gyros portions it is always a pleasure to visit a Greek eatery which doesn’t offer this mainstream food. One of these places is the Mylos in Berlin, Germany – a wonderful restaurant with a reduced interior design in the district of Charlottenburg, not far away from the Funkturm. Read more…
Bejte Ethiopia
I like Ethiopian food: the special kind of bread, the idea of putting huge plates in the center of the table for everyone to eat with his or her hands. Most often these restaurants are not designed very well inside, but that doesn’t matter, because mostly the gentle hosts make up the wonderful atmosphere. Read more…
Upper Burger Grill
I never went to the Ku’damm to find something to eat. I thought the restaurants in that area might not fit to my needs but I had to learn that I am wrong. When meeting some colleagues for dinner close to the Café Kranzler I just started the right app and was directed to a burger bar with free tables. Read more…
Bars at Berlin
Booze bar
Okay, there are a lot of good bars in Berlin, Germany – but this one is special: The Booze bar in Boxhagener Straße, close to the Oberbaumbrücke in East Berlin doesn’t need a menu list. It is in the head of the barkeeper and this guarantees best guidance. They call this “Assisted drinking” and it ensures best cocktail choices. Read more…
Monkey bar
Everything changed at the railway station “Berlin Zoologischer Garten” as the long-distance trains started to miss this place and to stop at the new main railway station of Berlin, Germany. When I returned here after a few years of absence, I didn’t recognize where I am at the beginning. The most ugly buildings have been rebuilt and event the public spaces have changed pretty much. Read more…
Solar
Not far from Potsdamer Platz in Berlin, Germany, you’ll find the Solar – a sky bar with a high quality restaurant. When walking onto the parking space close to Stresemannstraße you see a door without a doorknob. Read more…
