Visiting the old Ksar of Äit-Ben-Haddou is a unique pleasure, but the rest of the city is just a collection of restaurants and houses on the opposite side of the river. Most people get there just for some hours and then travel further on. But where to stay if you want to spend a night in the city? On a hill above the city you’ll find the Riad Paradise of Silence, a wonderful guesthouse optimized for that.
The Paradise of Silence is reachable by unpaved roads which lead you through a collection of (often unfinished) houses to a parking area. After climbing some steps you’re in front of the building constructed in the local clay style. If you want to get to the historic old town of Äit-Ben-Haddou it is just a short walk into the city center and over a bridge crossing the river. The Riad is nice, has excellent views on the surroundings from their terrace and very friendly staff. Dinner is served at 7:30 pm for everyone so that you don’t need to leave in the dark to get some food.
