Choosing a hotel in Malta isn’t easy if you want to see the capital city but also travel around by rental car. Typically, I would book a hotel close to the city center of the capital, but Valletta is mostly free of cars and the space is extremely limited. A viable alternative is to find a hotel at Sliema with a car park as the neighboring city has a particularly good ferry boat connection.
The Victora hotel is one of the good options: a four-star hotel with an underground car park. Every day you want to leave with the car you need to change the ticket received at the gates against a free exit ticket at the hotel reception. Reaching the hotel through the narrow streets of Sliema requires a navigation system, but even apps like Google Maps or Waze guide you well.
The hotel has different a la carte and buffet restaurants, an amazing roof terrasse with an infinity pool and an additional adults-only pool. On foot you can easily reach the shopping street, lots of restaurants at the shore and the ferry boat to Valletta.
