We were staying at the Baumhaushotel Robins Nest during this New Year’s Eve and enjoyed some nice hours in the treetops. To get something to eat we had to go to Witzenhausen, Germany – a nice small city close-by.
My search for a restaurant lead to Schinkels Brauhaus (a brewery) and the Greek restaurant Syrtaki. Finding an open table on New Year’s Eve is always uneasy and therefore I directly accepted as the crew of the Syrtaki signaled me that they have only one table left (at 5:30 pm).
On this day they were working in shifts from 5:30 to 7:30 pm and from 8 to 10 pm – which was okay for us. The team was amazing and even though it wasn’t the best Greek meal I’ve ever eaten it was a pleasure to be there and to enjoy the enlightened city in the evening.
