Not as vast as Père Lachaise but also bigger than big. The Cimetière de Montmartre is a more quite graveyard close to the center of the neighborhood of Montmartre. You can stroll around and look out for history.
Strangely a metal bridge has been built over the burial places so that some monuments are now good preserved from the rain. Famous “inhabitants” of the Cimetière de Montmartre are Hector Berlioz, Edgar Degas, Alexandre Dumas, Léon Foucault and Heinrich Heine.
