When I was looking for a hotel in New York City, I had few criteria in mind: it should be (a) close to a subway station, (b) located at the center of Manhattan and it should (c) have a roof terrace because of the hot summer awaiting me. The Hudson is a nice boutique hotel fulfilling these requirements.
The hotel is located close to Columbus circle at the south western edge of Central park. At Columbus circle you have a metro station where lines A, B, C and D pass – and a Whole Foods Market on floor -1 of the Time Warner Center (if you need something for having a picknick, maybe on Governors Island).

Within the hotel you have WiFi at the bar, which is really crowded in the evening. I didn’t try the restaurant, but breakfast was a mess: expensive and poor – but you got New York around, so what? The nicest feature is the roof terrace with a good bar, but you can even only relax there in the sun.
