The Römer located on the Römerberg in Frankfurt, Germany is the town hall of the city. It dates back to the 15th century and it is unknown how it received its name. The interior of the building was destroyed in World War II – only the facade is original.
The Römerberg itself is an important place for locals and tourists alike. The museums MMK and Schirn are close-by, the Paulskirche and the Zeil are just around the corner. And it is only a short walk to the river Main. On the Römerberg you can also find the most important Christmas market in winter times.
