It is just a town hall, but a special one: the Wiener Rathaus has been built from 1872 on in neogothic style. It’s a fantastic building with a 98 meters high tower. It serves the normal purpose as a town hall but in winter times a vast ice skating area is opened in front.

The Stephansdom (Domkirche St. Stephan zu Wien) is the town’s landmark of Wien, the capital city of Austria. It is located in the city center and can be seen from near and far. The Roman-catholic church is called Steffl by the locals.

The airport of Wien, Austria is located 18 kilometers outside the city on the grounds of a town called Schwechat. It was opened in 1954 and its IATA code is VIE. 23 million passengers get here each year to visit the city or change planes. It is the most important airport of Austria and homebase for Austrian Airlines. 70 airlines fly from here to 70 different countries in the world. After World War II it became the official airport of Wien, earlier it was the airport of Aspern.
