The Spreewald (or Błota in Lower Sorbian) is a nice former swamp area where you can hike, ride your bycicle, do canoeing or let yourself be taken around in small traditional ships. But what if the weather is bad? In Lübbenau, Germany there is also a nice spa – the Spreewelten. It is quite a typical indoor and outdoor adventure pool – with artificial waves, a small restaurant and a lazy river.
What makes it special is the fact that penguins are living there. Next to the outdoor swimming pool there is a pool for the penguins and therefore you can swim together with them – only divided by glass. All penguins are marked and you can learn about their history and special characteristics. There is also a water playground and a special kids menu: a box with fries and nuggets – and a toy usable in the pool.
