Finding a good away home isn’t that easy. Even as the Internet has made it much simpler to search for landlords you won’t always get what you expect and need; and most times you’ll have to book almost a year in advance. The Kailua Lodge in Pelzerhaken, Germany is a very recommendable place if you want a high-class away home directly at the shore. The place consists of several houses and flats which are 80 to 150 meters away from the beach – one of the facts why a lot of surfers tend to rent these houses.
All houses are named after places on Hawaii or simply sound like that. Inside decorations and huge photo wallpapers reflect that spirit and you can enjoy a sauna or whirlpool dependent on your booking. We had a house directly in first line with a wonderful view on the ocean from our balcony. The greens around the house are treated very well and the sandy beach is fastly accessible.
From here you can easily make trips to Kiel, Lübeck, Timmendorfer Strand or Fehmarn – and if you dislike to do trips by car you can walk for hours at the beach. The prices for renting are quite high but you get good service in return. A lovely detail is the electric club car that you can use to shift your luggage and purchases to your home – moving luggage has never been more pleasant.
