One of the major sights in Paris, close to the Champ de Mars. Built in 1887 by Gustave Eiffel as a watch tower for the World Exhibition – and in remembrance of the French revolution – this iron giant draws the attention of people from all over the world. It’s the landmark of Paris and can be seen from most places inthe city.
On Tour Eiffel there are two restaurants, you can go to two different viewing platforms by elevator or on foot. Under this 324 m high building there is always hustle and bustle: too many tourists, a lot of street vendors and pickpockets. Best views on Tour Eiffel are at Trocadéro on the other side of the Seine. And when you are already there, enjoy the architecture and maybe walk to the Palais de Tokyo or the Musée d’Art Moderne.
