There are many beautiful landscapes in the lake region of Chile. One very beautiful is close to the volcano Osorno: when you follow road 225 towards Lago Todos los Santos it ends there in a very small place called Petrohué – with a nice hotel at a very quite place. On your way you can find a small but nice site: the waterfalls of Petrohué river.
These waterfalls aren’t very big or wide, but they move huge water masses through volcanic stone. And the way how the water has cut through this stone is very nice: there are different flows running aside and at some places the water goes deep down. You can visit this place on tourist paths that have been secured well. Best advice is to be here early in the morning, when it is not yet packed with visitors.
