Being in Ηράκλειο, Greece was a nice experience – but the city was quite small and I wanted to see the more rural Κρήτη (Kriti, Crete). As I didn’t want to rely on busses I had no other chance than to rent a vehicle – for the first time of my life when travelling.
Therefore I rented a scooter that should have been limited by European law to 45 km/h but was in fact faster – what made me a bit nervous. But I never met the police; instead I saw beautiful landscapes and beaches.
On the way the road conditions were a small challenge: sometimes rocks were lying in the middle of the road, sometimes goats were blocking my way. I nice trip – something that I will be doing more often in the future.
