The Museum Moderner Kunst Stiftung Ludwig – or short: mumok – is an important art museum in the heart of Wien, Austria. It was founded in 1962 as the Museum des 20. Jahrhundert, in 1977 it was extended with works from a private collector, the family Ludwig from Aachen, Germany – therefore their name was included in the museum name.
The current cubic building was opened at the new location in 2001. It contains modern works from Christo, Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol, Niki de Saint Phalle, Joseph Beuys and Pablo Picasso.
