Verona, Venezia & Lago di Garda

My first visit to the wonderful city of Verona, Italy! While a friend of mine was studying there I came over for some days to explore the city – something done best of you have a local or at least someone who knows the city nearly by heart. So I made my first contact with the city of Romeo and Juliet.

We went to all important sights (including the Arena and the Torre dei Lamberti) had an Aperol Sprizz at the market place and enjoyed Vitello tonnato close to the river Adige. After a typical Italian breakfeast we continued to the Lago di Garda for a mulled wine at its shore.

And we used the chance to go by train to Venezia – a cheap train ride ending directly at the Canale Grande. After touring San Marco and Rialto we returned to Verona and I went home the next day. A wonderful trip with many highlights I repeated several times later – even though I have no one living there anymore.
