The Lago di Garda is a wonderful lake in Northern Italy. I was here as a child with the family of a friend of mine for summer vacations and now returned in winter. I was with another friend at Verona – where she was studying for a semester – and went by bus to the eastern shore.
I forced here to exit somewhere in nowhere and made here a bit angry – but after some meters we were at the water and had a nice walk to Bardolino, including a mulled wine at a Christmas market.
The lake is the largest in Italy and the village names ring a bell to many Germans: Riva del Garda, Malcesine, Garda, Bardolino, Sirmione, Limone – who wasn’t there on vacations yet?
