When you’re passing through the cities Espenau or Fuldatal north of Kassel, Germany you might see a strangely shaped tower on a hill – the Häuschensberg. It is the Volkssternwarte Rothwesten, an observatory above the village Rothwesten belonging to Fuldatal. It was finished in 1963 and offers the possibility to look at the stars – free of charge. At its location there was since 1912 a look-out tower that collapsed and was never repaired.

Many people ride their bicycles along the river Fulda – on longer routes throughout Germany or just as a day trip from Kassel to Hann. Münden, Germany. Therefore you will find some eateries, beer gardens and restaurants next to the water. A special beer garden can be found close to the watergate at Wilhelmshausen, belonging to Fuldatal. Some months ago I saw an article in an international newspaper about Hann. Münden, Germany. Most pictures showed well-known places and buildings of the region, but one left me clueless: a couple riding by bike through a heath.
