Place in front of the new town hall building. Formerly known as the 82er Platz as Göttingen was the garrison city of the 2. Kurhessisches Infanterie-Regiment Nr. 82 of the Prussian army. In 1992 renamed to commemorate the victims of the first atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima, Japan, in 1945.
