If you like to enjoy the artworks of local artists you shouldn’t miss the national gallery of თბილისი. It is located at the Rustaveli avenue and surrounded by the 9th April park (remembering the peaceful uprise in 1989). The gallery is a modern art exhibition hall that shows well-made exhibitions on two floors.
There I got to know two impressive local artists: Niniko Morbedadze, a contemporary artist from Tbilisi painting fantastic characters and Niko Pirosmanashvili (1862-1918) from Mirzaani who painted scenes of Georgian everyday life on the walls of the taverns of Tbilisi. An interesting view into the past, into ancient traditions and living conditions!
