Grădina Botanică

If you get to the botanical garden of București and rate it with a western European scale in mind, you might be disappointed. In large parts it rather looks like a public park than a botanical garden. The vast Grădina Botanică was created in 1884 and was partially destroyed in both World Wars.

It is located within the city quarter Cotroceni in the east of the city. Take it as a nice opportunity for a long stroll between 10,000 different plants. There is also a botanical museum, an ancient greenhouse; you will see different ponds and some artworks spread throughout the garden. Closest stops of the metro are Polithenica (M3) and Grozavesti (M1).
