We were stranded in Mülheim an der Ruhr, Germany during a fair in Essen, Germany. And there is nothing more important after a stressful fair day then to have a beer and something to eat. That is why we were searching on the Internet for bars and restaurants in Mülheim – and not expecting to much. Franky’s bar popped up as a recommendation and it was worth the visit.
If you leave the city center of Mülheim and walk over the river Ruhr on the Schloßbrücke you can see the bar already. It is close to the water and has a round room with glass windows towards the river. It is a good quality restaurant offering nice burgers, pizza, pasta, meat and also vegetarian dishes. The served local beer is called “Mölmsch” – which is also the name for the dialect spoken locally.
