The royal palace in Sevilla, Spain is a set of medieval buildings and differently styled gardens in the city center. It was first a moorish fortification and was then continously enhanced. Today it is a tourist attraction and still the home of the Spanish royal family when staying in Sevilla.
The central building and the courtyard Patio de las Doncellas are examples of the wonderful Mudéjar architectural style with water basins in the center and arcs surrounding the inner yard. Other sections – especially in the gardens – are built later on by the catholic kings and are often of gothic style. You’ll find different fountains, a grotto and landscape parks.
