Hanu’ lui Manuc

If I could only recommend one restaurant at București it would definitely be the Hanu’ lui Manuc. They call themselves the oldest inn of Europe and that might be true. It is an old caravanserai used by the merchants and visitors of the market on the vast square today called Piața Unirii. ,

They serve traditional Romanian dishes (and the best fries I’ve eaten recently). Don’t worry if you don’t see the entrance immediately: it is a rectangular building with the seats in the fully surrounded inner courtyard. The entrance is towards the old city center. Just pick a table and select a dish, nothing can go wrong here.
