The Optisches Museum is a science museum in Jena, Germany. It focuses on optical topics – as Jena was a pioneer in these – like photography, telescopes, glasses and microscopes. The museum shows wonderful items of the past and explains how the worked and developed over time.
You can find the museum not far away from the JenTower, close to the Ernst Abbe memorial. The museum was already founded in 1922 and shifted its location over time. It contains also the historic workshop of Carl Zeiss and information about the life of Ernst Abbe.
