Koninklijk Paleis

The Koninklijk Paleis or Paleis op de Dam is the royal palace of the Netherlands located in Amsterdam. You can find it easily by walking from Amsterdam Centraal along the Damrak. It was built from 1648 on as a town hall and became a palace in 1808.

It is used by the royal family as a meeting place and guest house but not as their home. It was used for weddings and the presentation of newborn royals and shall in the future mostly be used for cultural events. The Paleis is the most important building of the golden age of the Netherlands.
