Shōsei-en

The Shōsei-en is an absolutely wonderful Japanese garden in Kyōto, Japan that belongs to the Higashi-Hongan-ji temple. It dates back to the Heian period (794-1185) and contains a nice pond from that time that is spanned by an old bridge.

A lot of elements changed over time. Today you can find different tea houses for tea ceremonies and cherry trees especially beautiful in spring. A especially liked the vast amounts of moss covering different sections. If you need to relax from the hustle and bustle on the street this is your place to be.
