The Frauenkirche

The Dom zu Unserer Lieben Frau in München, Germany – also called Frauenkirche – is one of the town’s landmarks. The building goes back to 1428 and the two towers are nearly 100 meters high. As no higher buildings are are allowed in the city center you can see them from near and far.

The church is 109 meters long and 40 meters wide. It was heavily damaged during World War II and was restored afterwards. The towers have an octagonal shape at the top and are topped by so called Welsche Hauben. People say that the towers differ in height one meter – but that is an urban myth.
