I discovered Sweden in a wonderful way: I went there with a group of young people from the youth of the Protestant church of my hometown. We were staying for a week at a typical house there – but most important, we went by canoe a long distance over endless lakes.
You can camp everywhere you like and therefore we stopped each evening at a shore that seemed pleasant for us. We had tents with us, but sleeping outside was also a good option every day. Sometimes we were so far away from civilization that I could here only the blood rushing through my ear. And one morning I was standing in the forest and facing an elk. He was as surprised as me.
