German cities need to have a Stadthalle, an event hall for concerts and other cultural events. People in smaller towns often have a special connection to these places as they go there multiple times in live and especially graduation ceremonies take place within. This also true for the Stadthalle of Northeim in southern Lower Saxony – their local pearl was build in the 90s gives space for up to 700 spectators.
The Stadthalle Northeim is located in the city center close to the Münsterplatz; reaching the railway station on foot is easily possible. What was surprising to me was that to access the building you need to go on floor down outside of it; very unusual. But most people probably arrive by car and the multi-storey car park is directly connected. I came here for the show Hat schon Gelb of Arnd Zeigler, the stadium announcer of the SV Werder Bremen. What I’ll always remember is how fast and easy it is to get fresh beer in this location; very decent supply!
