The “green horseshoe” is a wide green corridor at the lower town of Zagreb, Croatia with the shape of a “U”. Along this green area the most important museums, the botanical garden and art galleries are located.
What I found really nice at Zagreb is that the city is young and kind of alternative. And the horseshoe plays an important role in that. At the Park Josipa Jurja Strossmayera for example I found an ensemble of wooden huts, different kinds of chairs and self-made drinks.
Having a home-made lemonade, relaxing in the sun and listening to a very good techno DJ makes you immediatly feel at home. In the evenings there were nice concerts, too – most often close to Zagreb glavni kolodvor.
