If you divide the long stretched country of Chile into three sections (Atacama desert, center, natural preserves) then the El Tepual International Airport in Puerto Montt is ideally located between the central area where most Chileans live and the natural parks – like the beautiful Parque Nacional Torres del Paine.
Its one of those small airports where you can drive directly to the main building, hand over your car to your rental company and check-in very quickly. Getting there from Puerto Montt is a 16 km long trip, to Puerto Varas it is 21 kilometers. The signage isn’t that good but as it is in a flat no man’s land you will find your way.
