The Freiburg Bächle

Freiburg im Breisgau is a beautiful town in the south of Germany, very close to the border to France. I stopped here on my way to Marseille and got and returned a rental car here. Freiburg dates back to the year 1008, has about 220.000 inhabitants and is located at the river Dreisam.

When you get there by train and are looking for public transport, don’t worry: the station for the tramway is on top of a bridge crossing the railway tracks. And the network is pretty good. The most important sights, the Münster, the city hall and the Martins gate are all located in the inner city. And there you will also find a specialty of the town: the “Bächle“, small rivers running along the streets.
