If you get to the Zapata region you can find the Laguna del Tesoro belonging to Guamá, Cuba. Tourists get here to do a boat tour or visit a reproduction of village of the Taino indians. The most interesting sight is the Criadero de Crocodilos – a crocodile farm.
Here you can see the full lifecycle of crocodiles from the egg via small young ones to giant adult crocodiles in different pools. 100000 animals from 16 different species live here. While it was nice to watch the animals from only some meters away I wasn’t to happy seeing people holding baby alligators or taking pictures with bound ones.
