I love German motorway 38 because it brings me very fast from the center (Kassel, Göttingen) to the East (Leipzig, Dresden). It has been built after the German reunification and it has only one drawback to me: the number and position of motorway service areas.
If you travel the full distance to the East you will only find an “Autohof” close to Leuna, Germany. But if you follow road B91 some meters more you will find a small restaurant in no-man’s-land: the Schnitzelschmiede. It is a nice place for a stop, they have lots of escalope variations and also a special menu for children.
