Sorrento, Italy is located on the wonderful Amalfi coast. From Napoli you can the Circumvesuviana from Porta Nolana to the railway station of Sorrento. It has 17000 inhabitants and lies ona peninsula in the gulf of Napoli. The rocky area attracts tourists with orange and lemon gardens.
Most important good from here is the liquor limoncello made from local lemons. The name goes back to the ancient city of Surrentum and the myth of the Sirens singing at a rock nearby and distracting sailors. The city goes back to the 7th century BC and I found it nice to simply walk around and enjoy the special atmosphere.
